Radio Amateur Aviators Club “The Fifth Ocean”, continuing the program “Memorial to the dead Aviators” August 22, 2020, holds the Action of Memory from the place of the tragic death of the Hero of the Russian Federation, Honored Military Pilot.

Igor Tkachenko was born on July 26, 1964, in the village of Ventsy Zarya, Krasnodar Territory. Later, together with his parents, he moved to Tynda town, where he graduated from high school No. 7. In 1985 he graduated from Borisoglebsk Higher Military Aviation School named after Chkalov.

Immediately after graduation, Tkachenko served as an instructor pilot at Borisoglebsk Air Force Base, and since 1987, the pilot served at the Cuban Air Base. During his service, he mastered L-29, MiG-21, MiG-29, Su-27, and Su-35 airplanes. He has raided these types of aircraft for over 2300 hours. The pilot also possessed the technology of piloting foreign aircraft, such as Mirage 2000 and F-16.

Igor Tkachenko has been involved in aerobatics since 1989. He became a member of the “Russkiye Vityazi” aerobatic team in 1993.

He was a master of single and group aerobatics, performed complex figures on the limit modes of the SU-27 fighter: “turns on the hill”, passes at the speed of less than 170 km/h. In 2000, the experienced pilot received additional education,

having successfully graduated from the Gagarin Air Force Academy. He was the leader and sole pilot of the “Russian Knights” aviation aerobatic team. In May 2002, Igor

Valentinovich was appointed commander of the Russian Knights aviation aerobatic team.

On 16 August 2009, during preparations for the MAKS-2009 Air Show of the Russkiye Vityazi and Strizhi aerobatic teams, and Su-27UB aircraft carrying Igor Tkachenko and CPAT chief navigator Igor Kurilenko collided with a Su-27 piloted by Vitaly Melnik. Igor Tkachenko died as a result of this aircraft accident.

In different periods of military and flight activity, Tkachenko is awarded state awards and insignia. By the Decree of the President of Russia, in 2009, the famous pilot was awarded the title Hero of the Russian Federation, posthumously. He was buried on August 19, 2009, in the cemetery of the village of Nikolskoye, near the town of Kubinka, Moscow Region, near the airfield parking of the “Russian Knights” group. Due to the death of its commander, the Russian Knights aerobatic team has canceled its demonstration performances at the MAKS-2009 air show. Subsequently, in memory of its

the commander pilots of the “Russian Knights” aerobatic team dedicated their flight at the closing of this air show.

The pilot has a wife and two children left. The son – Igor Igorevich Tkachenko, graduated from Armavir Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots and continued his father’s work.

On August 22, 2019, radio amateur team Oleg Utkin R2ANX (5 OCEAN #499), Sergey Sushko RZ5D (5 OCEAN #171), Dmitry Shcherbakov R2AJ (5 OCEAN #376) and Peter Salnikov R2DOW will hold the Memory Action from the site of the disaster near the village of Zakharikha.

R2ANX/P, RZ5D/M, R2AJ/M, R2DOW/P.

A necessary number of points – 11.

Ranges 160 – 10 meters and VHF, types of modulation SSB, FM, CW, DIGI.

Links to the diploma are counted from 22.08.2020.

The diploma is valid until 15.08.2021.

For communication on 22.08.2020 with any of the call-signs on the expedition, 5 points will be charged.
For communication with radio amateurs members of the club “Fifth Ocean”, working callsign … /AM, Honorary members of the club “Fifth Ocean” (U4MIR, LZ1HM, LZ1ZF, RA4AO, R2DAV, R5DU, RA6F, RG3A, RV3D, RV3YR, UA1ZZ, UA3DJ, RA3YV) – 5 points;
For communication with radio amateurs, members of the club “Fifth Ocean” – 3 points.

Repeated QSOs with members of the club “Fifth Ocean” are allowed on different bands and different types of radiation during the whole period of the diploma.
