mAT-705 Tuner Introduction

The MAT-705 is a very small and powerful tuner for portable shortwave devices, specially designed for the Icom IC-705.

The MAT-705 tunes coax powered antennas for shortwave, the usable frequency range is from 1.8 to 54 MHz. No matter if it is a vertical, dipole or directional antenna – the MAT-705 tunes it. Extremely low power consumption is taken into account.

The MAT-705 is powered by a 9V block battery, so it does not burden the power supply of the radio! The relays of the tuner are bi-stable, i.e. they do not draw current after switching. And if the frequency is not changed within the next minutes, you can switch off the MAT-705 completely, the found setting is kept by the bi-stable relays. Once found, the small tuner remembers the settings automatically, there is max. 16000 memories available. This speeds up the tuning process enormously.

Operation is fully automatic if you have set this accordingly in the radio menu, see the operating instructions (Tune on PTT). The required control cable is enclosed. The supplied 9V block battery lasts several weeks, depending on use. The MAT-705 tuner is housed in a rugged aluminum case, so it can be taken on trips together with the IC-705.
