Amateur radio activity days “St. Petersburg TV Tower: 60 years on the air”

From February 20 to March 8, 2023 RTRS and the Regional Branch of the Amateur Radio Union of Russia in St. Petersburg will hold Amateur Radio Activity Days dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the TV Tower of St. Petersburg.

According to the agreement between the management of the branch “Saint-Petersburg Regional Center” of FSUE Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network (RTRS) and the Saint Petersburg Regional Branch of the Radio Amateur Network (RO SRR), it was decided to mark the 60th anniversary of broadcasting from the Aptekarsky Island TV tower, from which three television and three radio programs were broadcast since February 23, 1963, and to include a separate item in the existing city program under the joint amateur radio program “Saint-Petersburg TV Tower: 60 Years on the Air,” which provides for days of activity from February 20 to March 8 this year and the creation of a diploma.

In order to get a diploma the applicants must collect 60 points for working with the radio stations of St-Petersburg and Leningrad Region, and it is obligatory to make at least one QSO either with a collective station of the branch “St-Petersburg Regional Center” of FGUP “Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network” RC1B, or with a radio amateur who worked in the branch.

The validity of the diploma is indefinite.

Points are awarded as follows:

  • with the collective station of the branch “Saint-Petersburg Regional Center” of FSUE “Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network” RC1B – 10 points,
  • with radio amateurs, who worked at the branch “Saint-Petersburg Regional Center” of FSUE “Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network” – 5 points,
  • with the collective radio stations operating in other branches of RTRS – 5 points;
  • with other radio amateurs of St. Petersburg and Leningrad region – 1 point.

During the activity days the points for the conducted connections are doubled.

Repeats are allowed on different bands and different types of radiation.

The call signs of amateur radio operators of the Saint-Petersburg Regional Center branch of Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network: UA1AFO, UA1AOS, UA1AV, UA1CLR, R1BEO, RV1AG.

Collective call signs of RTRS branches: R5RT, RT3B, RT6A, UB1N, UF5D, UI3K.

In order to receive the diploma, amateur radio operators of St. Petersburg and Leningrad region must make at least 250 QSOs.
